Bongo går i LUKSUS

Bongo Camping gør sig til i frilufts- og eventyrkredse

Selvom det ikke er et trestjernet hotel, der er vartegnet for Bongo Camping, hvilket i sig selv også ville være lidt selvmodsigende at campere på et trestjernet hotel, omend en tilstrækkeligt ekstravagant excentriker måske kunne finde på det, så er BDT stolte af at kunne præsentere Bongo Camping i det store danske outdoor og eventyrmagasin LUKSUS.

I det anerkendte adventuremagasin LUKSUS kan man i sommernummeret fra juni (nummer 73) finde en artikel om Bongo Camping, livet og de mange projekter og lokale udforskningsmuligheder både af områder og kultur, der knytter sig til campingpladsen, når man kommer som rejsende i MBeya-området.

Som en del af Mediehuset Luksus, der blandt andet også udgiver skimagasinet Pist 'n' Powder og Løbemagasinet, samt med til at afholde D.A.F.F. (Danish Adventure Film Festival), kan magasinet LUKSUS bryste sig af, at være "Danmarks suverænt største magasin om outdoor, actionsport, adventure og rejseliv" med et oplag på ikke færre end 20.000 eksemplarer.

Bongodox

Bongodox 2 is continuing the Bongodox project in the autumn of 2011.

Bongodox video project took place from January - June 2010 around Bongo Camping, and was facilitated by Katrine, a Danish anthropology & media science student. The aim of the project was to share knowledge about video and HIV/AIDS communication. The project team consisted of 9 members from KUMBE, who took part in workshops to learn tools and inspiration to work with video and video editing. In June 2010 the Bongodox team presented their first small HIV/AIDS documentary, which afterwards has been shown at local schools.

Bongo Entrepreneurs (Project description)

Cand.merc Nabil initiated the idea of ultra small-scale entrepreneurship at BongoCamping in 2008. Bongo Entrepreneurs was executed in three phases, namely an educational program followed by an entrepreneurship competition and finally a sponsorship for the winners. Three winners were selected from more than twenty participants and each received a sponsorship of maximum 400 USD for starting their businesses.

Bongo Camping (Project description)

Bongo Camping is BDT’s first development project, which started in 2007. The Bongo Camping project is conducted in collaboration with the Tanzanian NGO KUMBE (Kikundi Cha Utalii Mbeya). Today Bongo Camping functions as a campsite and development platform, situated near Tukuyu/Mbeya, in the South Western part of Tanzania. Volunteers from KUMBE are doing the daily operation of the campsite, where travellers from all over the world can enjoy the beautiful environment and be part of the local life in Kibisi village. Bongo Camping´s values are learning and cultural meetings, global co-operation, and to share every important kind of knowledge.
