Learn Swahili Step by Step

We´re testing a system of exercises combining web activities, audio files and images, followed up by teacher´s online exercises to test what the student has learned.

Send [START LESSON] followed by [LESSON NUMBER] in order to begin at each lesson. You´ll then receive lesson files and a Swahili identity to use at the online exercises on the Facebook wall.

You will pass from one step to the next only if you do well in the the online teacher-student interaction steps on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00-12:00 am [local time Denmark].

Before the scheduled interaction hours, you should therefore prepare yourself through exercises sent to your message box. These exercises consist of web programmes designed for language schools, audio files corresponding to the lesson texts, and images.

After passing 10 interaction steps you finish the beginner´s course with a test during the Saturday or Sunday online class. Then we´ll be evaluating on the learning process and I hope to get your statement about this experience.

When?

Online interaction class is conducted Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00-12:00 am. Before the online interaction you should prepare yourself through the exercises during the week. The exercises for each lesson are sent to your message box after you have asked to join a new lesson, and provided that you are ready for this lesson.

Who´s making this possible?

Capacities and working resources from Bongo Development Tourism and Kumbe – we are both non-profit civil society organisations from Denmark and Tanzania. This enterprise is a result of a positive history of co-operation between these Swahili and English speaking partners.
